Privacy policy
Data controller
The data controller is MulerTech (Sébastien Muler, sole proprietor), reachable at the address given in the legal notice. This policy describes how your personal data is processed when you use Discover Our Trip.
Data we collect
Account data: email address, password (stored hashed), interface language. Vehicle profile: dimensions and weight you provide for route computation. Usage data: points, collections and itineraries you create. Subscription data: subscription status and period; payment data is handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
Purposes and legal bases
Providing the service (account, itineraries, personal maps): performance of the contract. Billing and subscription management: performance of the contract and legal obligations. Security (rate limiting, abuse prevention): legitimate interest. No profiling, no advertising, and no sale of personal data.
Retention
Account data is kept while the account exists and deleted upon account deletion, except for data we must keep to comply with legal obligations (e.g. invoices). Technical logs are kept for a short rolling period for security purposes.
Recipients
The platform is entirely self-hosted: your data stays on our own infrastructure. The only third-party recipient is Stripe, our payment processor, which receives the data required to process your subscription payments. No data is transferred to other third parties.
Browser extension
The optional "Coordinate Importer for Discover Our Trip" browser extension helps you import your own saved places into your account. It runs entirely in your browser. To find the exact coordinates of a place, it opens the place links from your export (which point to Google Maps) and reads the coordinates from the page. Only those coordinates are sent to your Discover Our Trip account. The extension collects no personal data, uses no tracker, transmits nothing to any third party, and does not read your Google account: coordinates travel only between your browser and your account. It requests access to Google Maps pages solely to read the coordinates of the places you choose to import, and runs on Discover Our Trip only to receive your import request. Installing the extension is optional; you can remove it from your browser at any time.
Cookies
The website only uses a session cookie, strictly necessary for authentication, exempt from consent. There are no third-party trackers and no analytics cookies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, delete and port your personal data, and to restrict or object to its processing. You can download a copy of your data and delete your account at any time from your account page. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address given in the legal notice. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).
Security
Data is protected by industry-standard measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, restricted access to servers and encrypted backups.
